IANA is currently processing many older requests where the resolution of the request is not clear. These requests date back to 2000-2001, but appear in our ticketing system as current requests. Many of these requests were, in fact, resolved at their initial submission, but the documentation is unclear and IANA would like to ensure that any outstanding requests are addressed.
Most of these requests are cleared from the ticketing system within 30 days, but the processing times recorded do not reflect the 5 years between when the request was initiated and when a resolution was made clear. Notification to the community will be made once IANA has completed reviewing all the older requests. At that time, statistics will be for current requests only.
