Here you can choose your map you wish to edit. You can edit an existing map or create a new one.
Choose your ground theme, main ground tileset, size and required players.
Note that you need to create a complete new map if you like to change this settings. Now you can start the editor.
After the default map is created you will find your tools on the left site in the command frame and the menu bar.
The map consists of many tiles which are coating the ground which can have heights and downs.
You can get a better overview over the ground when you enable "Show Cell Grid" in the "Debug" menu.
To change the height you have two ways: | |

You can change the ground tiles if you select Ground from the second dropdown box. Just select
one, hold down the left mouse button and "draw" the tiles on the ground. Note that it is not possible to get
realistic water like you can see it in some maps through the editor. That needs to be done out of Boson
and is not yet supported nor documented.
You can also export an image of the map with shows the usage of one tile (here texture) and edit the map
like a heightmap. You can e.g. blur the transitions between grass and other tiles.
Just try it out if you like, but it is a little difficult and not documented.
Under the "Editor" menu you can change the map description and the available resources for each player.
Note that you will always es the currently active player.
The neutral player is used for neutral objects like trees. But also resources like mines and oil towers are here available.
Place some trees on the map to give it a more realistic look.
Boson has support for different conditions, you can edit them in the "Edit global conditions" dialog under
the "Editor" menu, but it is not very userfriendly yet.
Some general things you should know about conditions:
