 Changing DBM Operator Data

Use

You can modify the data of the DBM operator specified in <user_name>.

The new values are specified with <property>=<value>.

You can specify all Authorizations of a DBM Operator for <property>.

You can specify multiple values, separated by commas, for the SERVERRIGHTS authorization. Put a plus sign in front of the authorization to assign it and a minus sign to revoke it. For possible values, see: Server Authorizations.

The password for the SYSDBA user (special DBM operator) cannot be changed in the Database Manager.

Prerequisites

You have the server authorization UserMgm.

If you want to change the password of the first DBM operator, the database instance must be OFFLINE.

If you want to change the password of a normal DBM operator, the state of the database instance is irrelevant.

Syntax

user_put <user_name> <property>=<value>[, <property>=<value>, ...]

<property> ::= PASSWORD | COMMENT | DISABLED | SECONDPASSWORD | SERVERRIGHTS

Log on to the Database Manager CLI as the operator DBM with the password DBM, create the connection to the database instance myDB, assign the server authorization to start database instances and remove the server authorization to stop database instances for the operator with the name Meyer

dbmcli –u DBM,DBM –d myDB user_put meyer SERVERRIGHTS=+StartDB, -StopDB
