You have opened the dialog for defining or changing an indexing service. You do this by choosing either New or the name of an existing service under Indexing Service Settings.
To define or change an indexing service, proceed as follows:
...
1. If the indexing service does not yet have a name, specify a name under Service Name. This name must be unique.
2. You can specify a short description of the indexing service under Description, however, this is not mandatory.
3. The list under Assigned Document Classes shows you which document classes are assigned to the indexing service. These are the classes of XML documents that the service will process and index. You can create new document classes, change them, or delete them.
All available document classes are always assigned to each indexing service. It is not possible for individual document classes to be processed by certain indexing services only.
Note that, therefore, all changes to a document class affect all indexing services.
4. Choose the document store under Document Store. You can specify a new document store, or change a document store.
If you remove the assignment between a document store and an indexing service, then you also delete all information about this document store, if it is not assigned to another indexing service (see also Deleting the Information About a Document Store).
5. Confirm your entries.
¡ If you define a new indexing service, choose Create.
¡ If you change an existing indexing service, choose Update.
6. Restart the indexing engines.
