The Database Analyzer program is a tool for analyzing the performance of database instances.
You can use the Database Analyzer independently of the version and the database instance type. You can also use this program to access the database instance from a remote host.
The Database Analyzer collects performance-relevant data by monitoring the performance of the database instance at regular (variable) intervals. It splits the results of its analysis into five classes – information, three different levels of warnings, and error messages.
This makes it easier for you to find out the following possible causes of problems with the database instance:
To be able to interpret the information gathered by the Database Analyzer, you require a sound working knowledge of the architecture, the architecture of your application program, and your operating system.
For general information about the database system, see the database administration documentation.
