Restoring the Indexes After a Database Recovery

When you restore data, the process is optimized by not restoring the indexes in the log area. Indexes that have not been restored are marked BAD and can be restored with the Database Manager GUI.

Prerequisites

The database instance is in the ONLINE operational state.

Procedure

       1.      Choose Instance ® Recovery ® Index.

       2.      You can choose the tables for which you want to display indexes marked as BAD. To do this, enter appropriate search arguments for the owner, table name, and index name.

       3.      Choose Actions ® Search. The system displays a list of the indexes that match your criteria.

       4.      Select the indexes that you want to restore.

       5.      Choose Actions ® Recreate to perform the action.

We recommend that you restore the indexes during periods where the load in the system is low.
