 Interactive Log Backup

You can use interactive log backups to back up all the pages of the log area that have been written since the last log backup.

If you back up the log entries in version files, a version file is also generated for the last log segment, which may not be full.

You can perform interactive log backups in the operational state ONLINE or ADMIN.

You cannot perform any other backup while the interactive log backup is running.

Prerequisites

A full data backup of the current database instance has been created at some point.

Procedure

Use the Database Manager or, in SAP systems, the DBA Planning Calendar to perform interactive log backups.

Database Manager GUI, section Backup Processes
