 Creating DBM Operators

Use

You create a DBM operator with the operator name and operator password specified in <user_name> and <password>.

Do not enter the character string SYSDBA as the operator name, because this is a reserved SQL keyword.

For information about the length and permitted characters for user names, see also: Database Manager Operators (DBM Operators).

At first, this operator has no server authorizations. You must explicitly assign these to the operator (Changing the DBM Operator Data).

Alternatively, you can also specify a <template_user>, from which all authorizations, but not operator name and operator password are then copied. (See also: Authorizations of a DBM Operator)

Prerequisites

You have the server authorization UserMgm.

Syntax

user_create <user_name>,<password> [<template_user>]

<user_name>

Name of the DBM operator to be created

This may actually be a Database Manager operator <dbm_user> or the database system administrator <sysdba_user> (the only database operator with the authorizations of a DBM operator).

<password>

Operator password

<template_user>

Operator whose authorizations should be copied

Log on to the Database Manager CLI as operator DBM with the password DBM, create a connection to the database instance myDB, create the DBM operator MEYER with the password secret and the authorizations of the operator DBM

dbmcli –u DBM,DBM –d myDB user_create Meyer,secret DBM
