You can activate or deactivate automatic log backups either with the Backup Wizard, or with the Database Manager GUI. These settings allow you to maximize the security of the data in production systems.
The database instance is in the ONLINE operational state.
You can activate and deactivate automatic log backups with the Backup Wizard.
1. Start the Backup Wizard.
2. If you have not yet created a backup medium, do this now as described in Creating a Single Backup Medium. Select a backup medium in the window Media for Backup.
3. Check the details. Change them if required (Changing Backup Media).
4. If your database is in the operational state ONLINE, you can activate or deactivate automatic log backups.
You can activate and deactivate automatic log backups with the Database Manager GUI.
Before you can make log backups, you must create the necessary backup media.
1. Start the Database Manager GUI.
2. Choose Instance.
3. If your database is in the operational state ONLINE, you can activate or deactivate automatic log backups (Set Auto Log ON/OFF).
Once you activate automatic log backups for your system, this setting remains active until you deactivate automatic log backups again. Automatic log backups also remain active when you restart the database instance.
