 Architecture of the Loader

The Loader has a client-server architecture, but can also be used as a standalone executable program (client and server in one program).

The client is the user interface of the Loader server and forwards the commands that need to be processed. The Loader server itself is, in turn, a client with regard to a database instance. It processes the commands, transforms the data in the data flows, and communicates with the database kernel.

The Loader can be used with remote connections; that is, the Loader and the database instance can be installed on different computers.

In practice, the following configuration is frequently used:
All Loader components are on one computer, and the database instance is on another computer.

...

       1.      At the request of the client (for example,  Loader CLI), the Loader is started directly, without the X server being called.

       2.      Communication between the Loader and the database kernel is established via the X server.
