You install the MaxDB JDBC driver to access the MaxDB database system. To enable this, you must store the file sapdbc.jar where it can be found by the Java VM.
You have three ways of guaranteeing that the Jar file can be found:
· Add the complete path of the file sapdbc.jar to the environment variable CLASSPATH. Enter the following, according to your operating system:
On Microsoft Windows:
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;<independent_program_path>\runtime\jar\sapdbc.jar
On UNIX (sh):
CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:<independent_program_path>/runtime/jar/sapdbc.jar; export CLASSPATH
· Specify the complete path of sapdbc.jar when you call the Java VM. To do this, use the option -cp:
On Microsoft Windows:
java -cp <independent_program_path>\runtime\jar\sapdbc.jar
On UNIX (sh):
java -cp <independent_program_path>/runtime/jar /sapdbc.jar
·
Copy the file
sapdbc.jar to
the directory for Java libraries. For the Java VM from Sun, enter:
<java_runtime_dir>/lib/ext
