 Changing a User Password 

You can use the Database Manager to change the passwords of all Database Manager operators (DBM operators) and the database system administrator (SYSDBA user) in various operational states of the database instance:

Operational State of Database Instance

Database Manager operator

First Database Manager operator

All other DBM operators

OFFLINE

Operator password can be changed in any operational state

Database user

SYSDBA user

ONLINE

Prerequisites

Starting the Database Instance, Stopping the Database Instance).

Procedure

To change a password, proceed as described under Changing the User Properties. Make sure that the database instance is in the required operational state.

       1.      Choose Instance ® Configuration ® Users.

       2.      Select a user.

       3.      Choose Actions ® Properties.

       4.      Select the tab page Generaland then choose Password Change.

       5.      Enter the old and new passwords and save your entries.
