You can use the Backup Wizard to guide you through the entire process of backing up the data of a database instance.
You can start the Backup Wizard on a Microsoft Windows-based computer to back up data on either a local or remote computer.
In the Database Manager GUI, choose Instance ® Backup ® Backup Wizard.
Choose Next to start each of the required backup steps.

You
can back up the data of a database instance either locally, or on a remote
computer.
Choose your database instance, or enter the following information
directly:
Information about the database instance
Database Server: Enter the name of the computer.
Database Name: Enter the database name.
Information about the Database Manager
operator (DBM operator)
User Name: Enter the name of the Database Manager
operator.
Password: Enter the password.
2. You can switch the database instance to the operational state of your choice. When you back up data, you require the operational states ADMIN or ONLINE.

a backup type:
Complete Data
Backup
Incremental
Data Backup
Log Backup: Interactive Log
Backup
Activate/Deactivate Automatic Log Backup: Automatic Log
Backup
Also take note of the information about completed backups in the Backup
Wizard.
Inform yourself about the backup procedures,
and choose a suitable backup
strategy.
4.
Select
a backup
medium.
If you do not yet have a backup medium, you can create one, or create a group of parallel
backup media.

5. Start the backup.
6. Close the Backup Wizard.
