 Deleting Volume Parameters 

Use

You delete the parameters for the specified volume from the database parameter file. This command deletes only the parameters of the volumes; you cannot fully delete a volume that has been used.

Use this command with great care. Inconsistencies in the volume settings can lead to damage to the database instance.

Prerequisites

You have the server authorization ParamCheckWrite.

Syntax

param_delvolume <vol_no> <vol_mode>

Options

<vol_no>

Number of the volume

<vol_mode>

Mode of the volume

Option <vol_mode>

DATA

Data volume: the number of the data volume is assigned by the system as a four-digit number with leading zeros when creating the volume

LOG

Log volume: the number of the log volume is assigned by the system as a three-digit number with leading zeros when creating the volume

MLOG

Mirrored log volume (see also: Log Mode)

Log on to the Database Manager CLI as operator DBM with password DBM, create a connection to the database instance hoteldb, delete volume number 3 of type DATA

dbmcli –u DBM,DBM –d hoteldb param_delvolume 3 DATA
