A log backup copies the contents of the log area to files. One version file is generated for each log segment. The names of the generated version files are made up of the file name specified when the backup medium was defined and a sequential number specified by the database system.
Archive the version files at regular intervals in accordance with the recommended backup strategy. To do this, copy the files to another backup medium, either manually or with external backup tools.
To archive the version files with external backup tools, use the Database Manager CLI.
