Use this command only when told to do so by Support. The database trace is not required for normal database operation.
Follow Support’s instructions about which activities should be logged.
You activate the database trace with this command. In this way, selected database kernel activities are logged.
The database trace is stored in the binary file knltrace in the run directory of the database instance. To evaluate the file, you first create the text version of the database trace (Creating the Text Version of the Database Trace).
The file_id (see also: Opening a Database File) for opening this binary version is KNLTRC.
You specify
which activities are to be logged using the option
activity_list. Separate
multiple activities by spaces.
The special option ALLactivates the
logging of all activities.
Some activities allow you to set a logging level between 1 and 9. This is optional. The Database Manager CLI default is Level 5.
You have the server authorization DBInfoRead or DBFileRead.
